Currently Editing: Sneak Peek from Alex and Drew’s Nashville Engagement

Nashville Engagement Session on family farm by Spindle Photography

After jamming out to the radio in the car for a few hours (and talking to my mom on the phone for a good hour or so, love you Mom!), I showed up in Smyrna, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, to photograph Alex and Drew’s engagement session and was absolutely enchanted. I’d arrived at Drew’s family’s farm, where his grandparents’ house that was built in the 1840’s still stands, with a barn that used to be full of milking cows, with a creek where Drew’s grandfather helped him and his cousin build a fort, with frolicking white tailed deer and rabbits… And this beautiful tree, hundreds of years old that Drew says was his grandmother’s baby. We spent most of the afternoon there on the farm before heading to downtown Nashville to finish up in the city and I feel confident that I could happily spend my whole life in a place like this.

I loved being in a place so full of history, full of stories so similar to my husband’s about his summers with his grandfather in south Alabama. I love that Alex and Drew got engaged here, just a few hundred feet away from where this photo was taken, and I love that I had the chance to capture Alex and Drew’s love in the hometown they grew up in, –their ‘roots’ as Alex put it-, and in Nashville, where they will be starting their life as husband and wife in just a few months, making their own roots. I am so appreciative to the couples that share their love stories with me and I feel absolutely renewed after days like yesterday.
