Hargis Retreat Wedding in Chelsea AL : Lindsey and Kendrick

I met Kendrick in one of my first years here in Birmingham (it’s hard to believe that December will be six years since I moved here!), we first met via twitter, and in person when I needed a male model volunteer for a vintage clothing shoot I was planning. Kendrick was (and still is) really into drumming (and all things music, really), graphic design, and photography, and over the years he’d always tell me he wanted to be his wedding photographer whenever the right girl came along. Enter Lindsey, beautiful and a talented vocalist, and kindred spirit who definitely seems to be a perfect match for my friend. Kendrick and I had been  chatting back and forth about potential wedding dates for a while when my husband was reading that Kendrick had gotten engaged on facebook, to which I replied “I know, he’s had me booked for a few weeks now.” And then I figured out that he had JUST proposed. So, clearly this wedding had been a ongoing scheme with me and Kendrick for years and I’m so honored to have been a part of THE day that had been such a long time coming.

Even though a little bit of rain made things more interesting at first (something we are getting quite familiar with this year, Birmingham!), mostly the day was just a homage to Lindsey and Kendrick’s sweet love for each other and their families. I loved the summer camp feel of Hargis Retreat, the happy tear-filled ceremony, and the fact that Kendrick keeps Lindsey (and most everyone he meets) laughing constantly. I am so excited for these two and so sorry that you had to wait so long for their wedding on the blog! If you missed their engagement session be sure to head that way as well, Lindsey and Kendrick are  pretty amazing. And thank you to Lesley Griffin for assisting at the wedding!
