Casey and Clint, Birmingham Alabama Christmas Wedding
Posted on December 29th, 2014 by Kelly Cummings in Birmingham AL, wedding, Weddings
I don’t consider myself to be a Scrooge at all but it takes me a while to get my Christmas spirit going. I was appalled to flip to one local station on Halloween that was already playing Christmas carols. Due to my slow going festiveness, I’m always a little wary of the pressure to put Christmas back away and make room for the start of the next year with all of the sparkling clean resolutions and more silver and gold than red and green. I say keep Christmas alive! For at least another month, to justify the decorations I seem to put out the week before the holiday. In the effort of holding onto that Christmas magic, I bring you one of last December’s weddings that I wanted to wait until the Christmas season came around again to share. I hope to share a few more from last year and from this December as well, so I apologize if you’ve already packed up your cheer.
Casey got the nerve to talk to Clint during her lunch hour one day, working up the nerve to compliment his wonderfully long legs. After meeting Casey at Hilary and Stephen’s wedding back in 2012 when she was one of Hilary’s most memorable bridesmaids I can definitely picture this exchange. What I loved the most about Casey and Clint’s wedding (aside from seeing Hilary and Stephen there, since Hilary was Casey’s Matron of Honor!), was how they embraced the Christmas season and the advent decorations of the gorgeous church they chose to be married in. Planning for a December wedding seems difficult since the red and green color combination is rarely loved outside of Christmas, even though it’s really lovely when done correctly. For a perfect example, see below. Casey’s bridesmaids wore long red gowns and the florals for both Casey and the bridesmaids were mostly white, with some succulents and pink tones for the bride’s bouquet (to compliment her gorgeous blush pink and white gown), and a few red berries added in for the bridesmaids. Hothouse Design Studio, one of my favorite Birmingham floral design teams, was involved so of course it was amazing! Greenery and lanterns made for a cozy winter feel and the green koozies adorned with mistletoe brought in some extra Christmas cheer. I also have a major love of fur shawls and coats, which I consider the greatest advantage of a winter wedding, and Casey looked amazing in hers! The flower girl carried felt mistletoe with bells and the menfolk wore classic black tuxes. Add in one of the most gorgeous exteriors in Birmingham and a really sweet first look and I’m totally sold. Casey and Clint are are both dedicated to helping people in their careers which I greatly admire; Casey is a Music Therapist and Clint is a Physician’s Assistant, and they are both just really beautiful people. Happy Anniversary (plus a few days), Casey and Clint! Also, many thanks to the lovely Mary Katherine Morris who assisted me for this wedding!
