Swann Lake Stables Wedding in Blush : Julianne and Scott Joe
Posted on November 26th, 2013 by Kelly Cummings in Birmingham AL, wedding
I was planning to hit the road for Thanksgiving in North Carolina today but the forecast for 100% chance of rain every hour of our journey changed my mind. So it seems fitting to blog a rainy day wedding, (although you wouldn’t know it from the photos). Neillie Butler and the rest of the Mariee Ami crew definitely know how to make a rain plan feel like Plan A, and Julianne and Scott Joe weren’t a bit afraid of braving a little weather. My favorite weather girl, Courtney Bryant, was there as videographer alongside her husband Paul, which made the day even more awesome. One of my favorite moments of the day was Courtney and the groom geeking out over their weather apps on their phones.
Julianne just radiates when she smiles and as soon as she and Scott Joe saw each other for their first look she was completely calm and happy, which is perfect. Their wedding featured a neutral palette with a little blush and yellow here and there, the florals were neutral and blush with succulents mixed in, and the reception seating included a long table for the bridal party, candelabras, and mercury glass. The groomsmen kept me laughing even when I tried to threaten them with my meanest looks so that we could make up for some lost time (mean looks aren’t very convincing when they are accompanied by trying to stifle giggles), Julianne and Scott Joe’s dog made an adorable appearance, and there was a candy buffet complete with cotton candy (which I consumed far too much of). I loved the floor length blush pink bridesmaid dresses, Julianne’s sassy and chic strapless gown with a ruffled skirt, Julianne’s gorgeous heels, and of course I always love weddings at Swann Lake Stables. I also loved the chance to photograph the Jewish wedding traditions of the Ketubah signing where Julianne and Scott Joe used their Hebrew names to sign, the ceremony under the chuppah with the breaking of the glass, and the Horah dance at the reception. It was such a fun day and I can’t get over how gorgeous the whole day turned out despite the rain!
