Angela and Michael’s Chicago Engagement Session

Thanks to Angela and Michael, I am now (rightfully) obsessed with Chicago. I’d always liked the idea of Chicago, mostly because I knew that the Field Museum had a T-rex skeleton and before I decided on archaeology (thanks to Egypt), I was also quite a fan of paleontology, and wanted to go to the University of Chicago. I’d since added “good pizza” to the reasons to visit Chicago, since my husband and I are working pretty hard at becoming connoisseurs of pizza (or at least cooking as little as possible). I knew Angela at our glorious alma mater, UNC-Chapel Hill, and of course she’s memorably gorgeous but also incredibly sweet (she gave me macarons and blood orange San Pellegrino to snack on inbetween outfits!), and I was pinching myself when she asked about doing their engagement session in Chicago even though the wedding would be in Chapel Hill. I didn’t even make it to the Field Museum this time (though we did go to the Art Institute twice we loved it so much), and still, Chicago totally has my heart. I hear the winters are pretty harsh otherwise it might be hard to keep me in Birmingham after spending a few days with the glittering skyscrapers, food, beach, city, shopping, art supplies, bubble tea, and museums all in one city. I loved the mix of architecture, the walkable streets, the pizza (we ordered Lou Malnati’s, for the record), and just the whole feel of the place.

As far as the engagement session, I think the images pretty much say it all. Angela and Michael are absolutely gorgeous, fun, stylish, crazy in love, and they live in one of the most amazing cities I’ve ever been to. I loved hanging out with them after the session, sipping champagne (I know, macarons and champagne, I was in heaven!), and chatting about wedding plans, dogs, North Carolina, Chicago. These two are just really great people and I am so excited that they’ve found each other and so thrilled to be a part of the documentation of their love story. Thank you so so much, Angela and Michael, for the hospitality, recommendations, and for being such a delightful couple to photograph! I’m totally in love with this session and I’m sure you can see why! Enjoy!
